welcome
During his 20 years at the Express & Star, sports writer David Instone compiled two quality hard-backs on the club, Albion Memories and Albion Glory.
Following his departure to the freelance world, he followed up with When We Won The Cup, the stirring story of how the Baggies conquered all in their path in an epic 1967-68 journey that ended in Wembley glory at the expense of Everton.
Now comes Forever Albion, a stirring collection of some 400 Baggies photographs produced following an extensive trawl through the Birmingham Post & Mail archives.
It is possibly the biggest and most exclusive set of Albion images ever published - dating from the late 19th century through the decades to the present day. There are special sections on Albion in Europe, with pictures from all the ties home and away, the days when the club regularly mauled Manchester United and famous events in Hawthorns history, like Jimmy Hagan's dice with death in an icy canal and the collapse of Asa Hartford's move to Leeds because of a hole in the heart.
It all adds up to compelling reading for fans of all ages, whether you want reminding of the Baggies' fantastic Cup-fighting days of the 1960s or their latter-day revival, promotion successess and subsequent seasons in the Premiership.
